“NAILING THE SMALL ROLE”
NEXT WORKSHOP DATE: SUNDAY OCTOBER 20, 2024
BIG NEWS!! In addition to continuing to teach on ZOOM…I’m also BACK IN THE STUDIO!!!
A workshop devoted to solving the problems of auditioning for smaller roles!
You have an audition, (due for tomorrow!) for the role of “Paramedic.” You have 9 lines. The scene is filled with physical action. The character breakdown is short & sweet:)
“PARAMEDIC. Any ethnicity. M or F. 25-35. Caring, earnest & professional. Gives Mike oxygen at the scene, gets him into the ambulance.”
How do you prepare? How do you deal with the “physical action” the scene calls for? The lack of props?
Many actors find auditioning for small roles an immense challenge at the best of times. We now also have to adapt to the demands of the ZOOM/Self-Tape audition. But booking these smaller roles can lead to a terrific on-camera career!
This workshop is designed to demystify the small role audition. We will work with scenes from t.v. & film.
The workshop will explore:
How the casting process works/industry stats and info.
How to avoid the biggest traps actors fall into with these types of roles.
How to use the camera frame to maximum advantage.
The keys to building your confidence in the Self-Tape/Zoom /In-Studio casting room.
Audition do’s & don’ts.
